Application T1: Overseas student looking for a PhD.
If you are writing to ask if we have a phd scholarship for a overseas student, the asnwer will most likely be no. There are some universities that sometimes have possible studentships, but these are rare.  most of our scholarships cover the home fees for UK students.  In some cases, we have had self funded students who are asked to prove they have the finance to support them for a 3 year Phd including all fees and living costs. more information is here

Application T2: Overseas student looking for a 6 month or short research visit to UCL.  Depending on your level of skills, it is very difficult and takes a great deal of time and resources to support such short projects so our group doesn't support such short research stays. We also rarely find that these students have any relevant experience of the key areas that we work in which are in electrochemical energy storage and materials processing and scale up.

Application T3: UK PhD student looking for a studentship: 
Please note that we may or may not have funding for a PhD studentship.  If we don't have anything, more than likely we can send your details to someone at UCL or within my network. It would be useful if you can let us know what sort of areas of research you are interested in.

Application T4: Overseas academic or pdra who wants to come as a visitor: If you are an overseas visitor who would want to come for more than 1 year, we would consider it on the basis of 1 suitability and fit of proposed research to our group, 2 your expertise and current status at home institution, 3 your motivation and value to our group and 4 your ability to support yourself with the funding.  All victors might also be asked to contribute to UCL in some way, e.g. guest lectures, etc.
